PRO- As a homsechooling family we purchased some of the books in this series to help us with our schooling. The children have liked majority of the activities and in my research I have found it does follow the Canadian curriculum to the letter. It is nice to have a book that is Canadian based worksheets since most are U.S based.

CON – While I do like these books I do have to point out one major issue I have with this company. They really need to make the pages tear outs. I have two children nearly the same age, and they are both doing some of the same activites. I would obviously need to make a photo copy for them to do these sheets and the pages don’t nicely tear out. Working out of the book itself would be tricky for a kid because the book is big and would make things rather awkward for new learners. Certainly this wouldn’t cause me to not buy books from them, but cutting the pages out is a huge pain

As a parent striving to provide my child with a solid educational foundation, I came across the Complete Canadian Curriculum: Preschool. Promising comprehensive coverage of key subject areas, including Math, English, Social Studies, Science, and the Arts, this curriculum seemed like the perfect tool to prepare my child for future learning. With engaging illustrations and interactive activities, I anticipated a rewarding learning experience. However, there are a few aspects of this curriculum that I found disappointing and worth considering.

    Pros:

Comprehensive Coverage: The Complete Canadian Curriculum: Preschool offers a comprehensive approach to early education, covering essential subjects like Math, English, Social Studies, Science, and the Arts. This breadth of topics ensures that children develop a strong foundation across various disciplines, setting them up for success in their future learning journey.
Interactive and Engaging: The curriculum’s interactive nature and vivid illustrations make learning enjoyable for young children. The inclusion of hands-on activities, such as collecting leaves, fosters a sense of exploration and practical application of concepts, which can be highly beneficial for their cognitive development.

    Cons:
Limited Adaptability: While the curriculum is designed to cover key concepts, I found it less adaptable to cater to individual learning styles or pace. Some children may require additional practice or have different learning preferences, and the curriculum’s fixed structure may not fully accommodate these variations.

    Conclusion:
The Complete Canadian Curriculum: Preschool offers a comprehensive and engaging approach to early education, covering key subject areas to build a strong foundation for young learners. However, the curriculum’s reliance on weather-dependent activities and limited adaptability to cater to individual learning needs were notable drawbacks. Parents in regions with unpredictable weather may need to supplement the curriculum with alternative activities. Additionally, considering the diverse learning styles of children, it would be beneficial if the curriculum allowed for more flexibility to accommodate varying paces and preferences. Overall, while the curriculum serves as a useful resource, it is essential to tailor it to the specific needs of each child to maximize their learning potential.

Very helpful book for my 6 year old.

  10. Andrea

Very good. Follows along very well with the teachings in school. The only issue I found, was that some of the drawings in a few of the sections were ambiguous, causing incorrect answers when the material was fully understood by the student.
